Open lectures for 2019

Our school has open courses every year to open its education and research functions and resources widely to the local community.
This year, we have prepared 6 courses at the school and 7 off-campus courses on request. We look forward to the participation of many people.

Lecture held at Asahikawa National College of Technology

A variety of courses will be held at Asahikawa National College of Technology, including manufacturing, experiments, and programming experiences. We look forward to your participation!


1. Metal cutting with laser! ~ Creating a pen stand ~

Start date: Sunday, July 21, 2019, 9: 00-12: 00

Contents: Laser cutting of metal, engraving of letters, and making of pen stand. How about a summer vacation free study?

Eligible students: Elementary school students and above (3rd grade elementary school students and below must be accompanied by a guardian)

Capacity: 8 people

Tuition fee: 1,000 yen

2. Mushroom and mold mycelium observation experience & mold elimination experiment with lavender

Opening Date: August 2, 2019 (gold) ①10: 30 ~ 12: 00②15: 30 ~ 17: 00

content: the hyphae of mushrooms and molds difference Let's observed with a microscope. Then experiment with the scent of lavender to kill mold. Enjoy learning about microorganisms in your life.more >>

Audience: 4th grade to 3rd grade

Capacity: 4 people each time

3. Let's make with parent and child! ! Casting experience class-Making a design plate using molten aluminum ~

Schedule: August 10, 2019 (Sat) 9: 30-16: 30

Contents: Make a model with Styrofoam and cast to solidify the melted metal. Let's make one design plate in cooperation with parent and child.

Eligible students: 4th grade to junior high school students and their guardians (junior high school students can also participate alone)

Capacity: 20 people in 10 groups (One pair) * When participating alone 1,300 yen

4. Programming experience-Control of LED lighting timing-

Schedule: 8August 18, 2019 (Sun) 1January 13, 2020 (Monday/Holiday) 10: 00-15: 30

Contents: Using a device (toy) called Versarayta Perform simple programming. Let's experience what you can do with programming by moving electronic components.

Eligible students: 4th grade and above

Capacity: 10 students each day

Training fee: 500 yen (1,500 yen for take-out of versalita)

5. Monozukuri × Programming-Create a Versarayer and Project Characters and Figures in the Air! ~

Start date: ①August 18, 2019 (Sun) ②January 13, 2020 (Monday/Holiday) 10: 00-15: 30

Contents: Soldering and easy programming create a unit (toys) that Basaraita that Utsushidaseru characters and figures to. Experience the fun of manufacturing and programming.

Eligible students: 4th grade or more

Capacity: 10 people each day

Tuition: 1,500 yen (with versa lighter)

6. Hands-on classroom using tin (tin)-production of guild only-

Schedule: November 23, 2019 (Sat) 9: 30-12: 00

Contents: Tin, a metal with good thermal conductivity and excellent bactericidal effect Make your own tableware (sake cup) and experience casting techniques.

Capacity: 5 people

Tuition fee: 3,000 yen

  • The tuition must be paid in cash on the day of the course.
  • If you miss a course that requires a tuition fee on the day, you may be required to pay the tuition fee.
  • We will close the reception as soon as the capacity is reached. (First come first served)
  • Please note that courses may not be offered if the number of applicants is small.

Lecture by business trip

Asahikawa National College of Technology visits the places you want and offers courses on crafts, experiments and lectures. How about elementary and junior high school events and local events?


  • Period: April to January in principle weekdays
  • Application period: April to December
1. Easy "casting" experience course-Let's make a nameplate! ~
Content: Make a mold with sand, pour the melted metal and make a small nameplate. Please feel the pleasure of "manufacturing" through the casting experience.

Time required: 2 to 3 hours

Eligible students: 4th grade to junior high school students

Capacity: 5 to 30 people/People

Others: Space is needed to make molds and dissolve tin with sand. (I will cover it with a blue sheet.)

2. Let's make a sparkler!
Contents: Wrap the gunpowder and coloring agent prepared by yourself in a piece of paper to make a sparkler and observe how it burns.

Time required: 30 minutes to 1 hour

Eligible audience: Third grade elementary school students or more

Capacity: 5 to 30 people

Tuition fee: 250 yen/People

Others: Venues and windows that can be opened and closed are desirable at the venue because smoke is generated.
If you have enough time, you can take home several sparklers.

3. Let's make a bath!
Content: Make your own bath salt by putting your own prepared medicine, fragrance and colorant into your favorite mold.

Time required: 30 minutes to 1 hour

Eligible persons: Elementary school students and above

Capacity: 5 to 30 people

Others: You can take your bath salt home with you.

4. Let's make a snow tree!
Content: While you are indoors, observe the appearance of beautiful ice crystals on a snow tree made of felt.

Time required: 30 minutes to 1 hour

Eligible audience: Third grade elementary school students and above

Capacity: 5 to 30 people/People

Other: Since the dichloromethane used evaporates, it is desirable that the venue have ventilation equipment and windows that can be opened.
You can take the tree you made home.

5. Science magic using familiar things
Content: Experience the "wonder of science" using things around you and think about "why?"

6. Antarctic Wintering Story
Content: The 46th Japan Antarctic Area Observation Team member (wintering team member) will be introduced with a wealth of photos and videos.

7. Make paperboard and compete with your friends
Contents: Make two types of paperboard and compete with your friends to find out how far you fly. It is a popular course every year.

Time required: 2 hours

Eligible students: 1st to 4th graders

Capacity: about 30 students per class
